BARNA has enjoyed a close relationship with ASPAN for many years. Traditionally the Immediate Past President of ASPAN attends the BARNA conference to deliver a session . ASPAN is the world’s leading association for our PACU speciality. ASPAN was one of the 4 founding societies to launch ICPAN. They have developed Standards, Core Curriculum, Competencies and two publications : Breathline and the Journal of PeriAnesthesia Nursing. A world leader in research, the ASPAN Annual Conference is multi-tracked over 3 days and is an exciting and stimulating event.

IARNA is our sister organisation in Eire. Founded in 2002 it hosts an excellent one day study day in different venues across Southern Ireland. BARNA supports and attends the IARNA Conferences and the Irish leaders come to BARNA. IARNA was one of the 4 founding societies for ICPAN back in 2008.
