We have now installed a secure online payment system, meaning no more downloading forms and posting cheques. You can join immediately with your favourite debit or credit card. Simply choose Nurse or Associate member, complete the form, pay and we will email you membership details when we have confirmation of payment.

BARNA (British Anaesthetic & Recovery Nurses Association) was established in 1987 in the Midlands as a specialist organisation catering for recovery and anaesthetic nurses who were not represented by any other association. BARNA became the UK representative for the International Federation of Nurse Anaethetists in 1993 and has long represented the view that non-physician provision of anaesthetics would be practical in UK. Membership includes nurses, ODP’s and doctors involved in the provision of care in the anaesthetic and recovery areas.

We continue to grow as an organisation and actively target all units where anaesthesia and recovery takes place, both within the private and NHS services. Membership is open to all health care professionals working within these domains.
